Yup, it’s here again…FRIDAY! Is it me or do weekdays seem much longer, the older we get? I’m just glad that something in this blog is becoming regular…so thank you, Friday.
Still trying to sort out where I want to take my business, what other things I want to tap into and how this blog fits in. I’m just glad YOU stopped in today to read. No one likes talking to themselves, do they? Ha.
Ok! Enough of that business….who is ready for some Friday Favorites?
FAVORITE MOMENT
Thursday night, I had the honor to join my church, Hope City, in feeding the homeless. Every other month we partner with Montrose Street Reach to provide a meal. Can I just say that it was one of the most rewarding things I’ve done in a while. To offer love and niceness to someone who may not have received that in a long time was a great feeling. Our problems always seem so big until you enter a situation like this and everything falls into perspective. Sure our problems mean something to but helping others can help you get your mind off yourself for a bit. As least I’m finding this to be true for me.
MOST REPEATED SONG TODAY
Ready for a new song? The Greatest by Sia dropped on Spotify today and I love it already. I may have listened to it a few times. Ok ok…maybe more. Sometimes I have to listen to a song a few times to determine what I think. This video features Maddie Ziegler as well. She is such a beautiful young dancer.
Sia is actually performing in my city soon. Just one problem…it’s on a competing night with Ingrid Michaelson. Another one of my favorites. What is a girl to do? ugh! I will be forced to pick.
FAVORITE QUOTE
There was a beautiful soul on earth that I only met once but I found this on her Facebook page and it just popped out at me.
“Grief is a natural response to loss. It’s ok to lean into it and learn from it.”
Learning and leaning into it does not come easily and is a daily choice. If this is ever mastered, I’ll be sure to let you know how.
CURRENT OBSESSION
Guys, I’m a complete murder mystery junkie. I will watch hour of real life footage, court proceedings and more. I have always had interest in things like this. Weird. I know.
Serial is my newest podcast obsession. Season 1 is about Adnan Syed. He was convicted in the killing of Hae Min Lee. Serial takes a dive into the case. My friend, Talia, got me hooked. I would listen on my way home from work and sometimes I would just sit a little longer in the car. Interviews and conversations on this podcast are interesting. I did not end this feeling one way or another though. Sadly season 2’s story was not s captivating. If you check it out or have already, I’d love to hear your thoughts.
That’s all I’ve got for now. Enjoy your weekend!
