Thanks to my classy friends, I have grown a love for brunch. Finding new local brunching spots has been a treat.
My most recent stop was to Weights + Measures located in Midtown. The silly person that I am arrived at noon expecting a spot inside. The wait was about an hour so my friend and I decided it wasn’t too hot to sit on the outdoor patio. Ha! We live in Houston and after about 20 minutes, we were too hot and not the kind of “hot” we wanted to look like. More like a hot mess but I digress.
This is not only a restaurant but there is an onsite bakery and cocktail bar. You’ll see your local young hipsters, families of four and that solo brunch reader. Weights + Measures provides comfort and will keep you interested for sure. As full as this place can be, we did not once feel rushed. Our server was so pleasant while having to endure the heat with us.
A little advice is to make a reservation if you want a seat inside rather than an outside seat.
Brunch is served until 4pm!
Yes, you heard me correctly.
Menu options will range from $9 – $18. The menu was unique. I could not resist the temptation and ordered the Cake Donuts + Fried Chicken with hazelnut vanilla syrup. Every bite was heavenly. The donut was made to perfection and the hazelnut syrup was intoxicating. Too bad it can’t be bought and brought home. My friend, Wendy, had the Avocado Toast. I don’t do eggs or eggs things but she had nothing but good things to say about her meal.
Do yourself a favor and stop in this weekend for brunch with a mimosa. Until the next brunching in Houston experience! Enjoy your weekend!
